The 90s

I was born in 1992. I consider it to be a prime time for being born and growing up. I'm sure I'm bias but the 90s was the best all around decade humanity has had so far. The 80s gets an honorable mention.

• I'm not big on history but there weren't any wars going on that threatened the world. There are always wars occurring though.

• Technology was just far along enough for culture and communication to flourish but not be inauthentic and idealized.

• Cell phones had just begun but no smart phones or social media.

• The internet had just begun but it wasn't relied upon.

• So much of current media is just remakes or imitations of media that was previously successful and people want that money. Creativity and originality got lost sometime in the early aughts.

• We stopped taking creative risks and started relying on "what we know works". Dogma.

• At some point, it is as if we stopped trusting the system and the system stopped trusting us back.
