You are what you do, not what you say you'll do
Carl Jung
I'm not the biggest fan of Carl Jung, aside from agreeing that idealism is an addictive drug. This quote is absolute bullshit.
What you do is a reaction. Every action you have ever taken is a reaction. You are not what you do. It can't possibly make sense.
What you say you'll do is a more realistic and accurate expression of you as it is not distinctly a reaction. It is both a reaction and an assertion of future endeavors. What you say you'll do is more accurately you but still is not correct as we often don't follow through on what we say we'll do. We are allowed to change our minds without penalty of sacrificing ourself.
You are what you create
Nick Miller
What you create is the most accurate expression of you. What we create is the most accurate expression of our being and existence. It is a culmination of what we do, say, and believe. What we create is often limited to time and circumstances so it is still not exactly accurate but it is more accurate than what Carl Jung says.
